compo.nents
Vision Worksheet · Prep for Monday

What do you
want this to be?

Muffy — before we build the store, I need what's in your head on paper. Fill this out however you want. Don't overthink it. There are no wrong answers here — this is you telling me what "right" looks like.

How to use this: Type in the boxes, tap the options that fit, skip anything that stumps you. Takes about 20 minutes. When you're done, hit Download my answers or Print at the bottom and bring it Monday.
1

The basics

The facts I need locked before anything gets built. If you don't know one, write "not sure" — that's useful too.

Is it "compo.nents," "Muffy's Lounge + Components," or something else?

The one you own. Do you have the login?

If someone asked "what's compo.nents?" in an elevator — what do you say?

2

Look & feel

How should the site feel when someone lands on it? This is where you shape the vibe.

Tap all that fit. Don't pick everything — pick the ones that are really you.

If you had to lean one way.

Name any store, brand, or site — running or not — that nails the feeling you want. Say what you like about it.

Just as important. What would make you say "that's not me"?

3

Who you're for

We can't design for everybody. Who's walking through the door — real or online?

Not who you have. Who you're building toward.

You've got exclusive brands nobody else in the Midwest carries. How much is this about the neighborhood vs. shipping across the region?

4

The product

The shoes on the site now are placeholders. I need YOUR real stock. Bring the full list Monday — this is just the headline stuff.

Bring your full inventory list Monday

The 3–5 things you'd put in the window. The stuff that makes people come to YOU.

You mentioned two that finished #1. I need the exact names so we can put them on the site — and which publication ranked them.

This becomes the copy on each brand page. Don't copy their website. Tell me why YOU carry it and why it's special.

5

How it runs

The behind-the-counter stuff — how orders get to people, and how returns work. Pick what feels right; we'll refine together.

You do NOT have to drive to the post office. Here's the menu.

It's free, keeps you in control, and pulls people into the shop.

6

What winning looks like

This is the most important section. If the website works perfectly — what changes for you and the store? Be specific.

Everybody wants "everything." Force the ranking. What are the 3 that matter most?

Finish the sentence with something you could actually measure. Dollars, orders, emails, foot traffic, a name you want to partner with.

Dream a little. Where's compo.nents a year from now if this all clicks?

7

The soul of it

This feeds your About page and the story we open the site with. Nobody can copy your story — that's the whole point.

Muffy's Lounge, 67th Street, how it grew into this. Tell it like you'd tell a friend.

"Woodlawn to the world" is on the site. What's the truth behind that for you?

8

Ready to take money

The grown-up business stuff. Check what's already handled so I know what we set up together. You own all of this — I build and maintain it.

9

Bring Monday

Quick checklist. Even three of these makes the meeting fly.

Wide open. Whatever didn't fit above.

That's it. Good work.

We'll turn this into the store — Woodlawn to the world.
